Studio Policy & Tuition

Lesson Duration: Lessons are typically offered in 30-minute, 45-minute, or 60-minute durations, depending on the student's level and age. Lesson schedules will be agreed upon at the beginning of each month.

Lesson Materials: Students are responsible for bringing the necessary lesson materials, such as sheet music and method books to every lesson. Recommendations for appropriate materials will be provided by me and obtained by either myself or the student prior to beginning the lesson.

Practice Expectations: Regular practice is crucial for progress. Students are encouraged to practice daily, and parents of younger students are encouraged to supervise their practice sessions. Daily practice duration will be pre-determined and discussed with the student/parent to ensure success.

Lesson Cancellations: Please notify me at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule or cancel a lesson. Makeup lessons may be arranged depending on availability. Please contact me by any method possible including call, text, or email. If you don’t receive a response within 2 hours, assume I have not received and please reach out in another method to ensure clear communication.

Teacher Cancellations: In the event that I need to cancel a lesson, a makeup lesson will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time.

Studio Environment: I strive to create a positive and nurturing learning environment. Respect, punctuality, and good behaviour are expected from all students and their parents/guardians.

Recitals and Performances: Students will have opportunities to participate in studio recitals, community performances, and other yearly musical events. Participation is encouraged but not mandatory.

Communication: Open communication is vital. Please feel free to discuss any concerns or questions you may have with me at any time.

Tuition fees will be charged on either a weekly basis (due at the end of each lesson) or monthly (due in advance of each month). Payment methods accepted include cash, check, or electronic bank transfer. Preference can be discussed prior to beginning lessons with me.

Tuition fees are as follows:

• 30-minute lesson: $45.00 CAD

• 45-minute lesson: $67.00 CAD

• 60-minute lesson: $90.00 CAD

Lessons conducted at the student’s home will incur an additional $5 commute cost per lesson, within 5 KMs of Toronto city centre. Any additional distance may incur incremental costs, to be discussed prior to beginning lessons with me.

Referrals may be eligible for discounts.
