I started Makeup School!

I can’t believe it, but I finally started makeup school! It was something that I’ve always wanted to do but wasn’t sure if I was 1) able to afford it 2) fit into my already busy schedule of music teaching and marketing, and 3) actually enjoy it, but I am SO glad that I did!

It’s been about 2 months since I started and I am very happy looking back to have made the decision to sacrifice my weekends to follow my passion. I am currently taking Makeup 1 at George Brown College where I learn basic skills such as identifying skin types, foundation matching, contouring and highlight, and doing eyeshadow work and brows.

Even though the classes are a full 8 hours on Sundays, I genuinely feel like the day flies by. I’m so excited to take what I am learning and applying it to the real work of makeup and creative design. So far, I’ve been practicing on all my friends (shout out to all my guinea pigs), and it’s been amazing.

I’ve also started an Instagram account @coey_does_ makeup where I share my practicing looks. I can’t wait for what’s to come, but in the mean time, it would be amazing to have you follow along to see how I’ve improved over the weeks!
